About Offsite Construction

In a recent survey conducted by the National Institute of Building Sciences' (NIBS) Offsite Construction Council, ninety-three percent of respondents in the architect, engineer, contractor, owner field indicated that they had implemented some form of offsite construction process in the past twelve months. These processes ranged from precast concrete, wall panels, MEP systems, bathroom pods, and permanent modular building construction. Read the NIBS report here.

93% of respondents in the architect, engineer, contractor, and owner fields said they had implemented some form of offsite construction in the past 12 months.

70% of respondents identified an accelerated construction schedule as an actual benefit of using offsite construction.

60% of respondents identified construction managers/general contractors as responsible for making the decision to use offsite construction methods on actual projects.

60% of respondents want commercial construction information.

83% of respondents said they will utilize more or the same amount of offsite construction in the next 12 months.

Types of offsite construction included precast concrete, volumetric modules, MEP assemblies, interior and exterior wall assemblies, bathroom and kitchen pods, and more!

50% of respondents said cost-effectiveness was an actual benefit.

60% of respondents identified quality as an actual benefit.

70% of respondents indicated they want design and specification information, when asked what information about offsite is of interest.

60% of respondents want accelerated construction information.

About Event

The Offsite Construction Expo will feature exhibits from offsite construction contractors, traditional contractors that have integrated offsite methods, offsite factories, transportation companies, architects, engineers, BIM suppliers, materials suppliers, and consultants of all types of offsite construction processes. Additionally, case studies will be presented on the hour on the expo floor.
